Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association is celebrating 100 years of amateur radio this year. The club is asking any former members or anyone with information about former members to reply. Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will have dinner Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. There will be a social time at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be at 6. A buffet menu of creamed chicken on biscuit, Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, tossed salad and dessert will be available. Cost is $18. A representative from the Ohio Department of Aging’s “Healthy You” program will speak about chronic pain management. The chapter also will present a scholarship to a local student. William Penn Association, Branch 28 of Youngstown, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Aut Mori Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. This will be an election of four delegates and four alternates for the October convention.

CLUBS

Friendly Squares will host its monthly square dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles. Rex Parker will be the caller, and Frankie Hammond will be cuing line dances. Father’s Day will be the theme. This will be a plus dance. Dress is casual, and light refreshments will be served. Mahoning Valley Chapter of Polka Dot Powerhouse will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Upstairs Restaurant, 4500 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Trumbull County Travel Club has the following trips planned: June 19 to Cleveland for “Let’s Explore Ohio” day trip; Aug. 14 for the oddities of the Canton area; Sept. 9-17 vacation to South Dakota; and a Nov. 2 outing for a gingerbread tour in Pennsylvania. The club is open to anyone over the age of 21. There are no dues, and meetings are twice a year at various locations within the area. SOCIETIES

Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will host its regular monthly meeting and annual potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Church ministry building, 7325 Westview Drive, Boardman. It is accessible. The program will be “The Mahoning County Dispatch Newspaper,” and the digitization being done by the Canfield Historical Society. The speaker will be Susan McCabe. William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. June 15 in the Kravitz Deli meeting room, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty. Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Youngstown Area PFLAG will have its monthly support meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, in the parish room behind the church. Youngstown Area PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends, and Allies) is a support, education and advocacy group united with LGBT people to move equality forward. Support meetings are the second Tuesday of each month. PFLAG provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. Meetings are free and confidential.
