AUCTION

Struthers Rotary Club will host its annual duck race and basket auction Aug. 17 at Yellow Creek Park. Ducks will race at noon, and baskets will be drawn after the race. CLASSES

Salem Public Library is offering tai ji classes from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 21 in Centennial Park, pavilion 2. Instructor will be Master Doug Nybell, owner of Crystal Dragon Family Martial Arts in Columbiana. Tai ji is a Chinese martial art that promotes good health. It is low impact with flowing movements that can be beneficial to individuals with some physical limitations. Classes are free and for adults of all ages. FESTIVALS

Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 401 Twelfth St., Campbell, will host its Greek Food and Wine Festival from noon to 10 p.m. Aug. 28 through Sept. 2. Admission is free, and there will be Greek foods and pastries, Greek music and folk dancers, indoor and outdoor dining, games, CDs, guided tours of the church and more. Holy Spirit Parish Festival will take place at St. Vitus Catholic Church, 910 S. Mercer St., New Castle, Pa., 6 p.m. Aug. 7-10. Admission is free. Highlights include fireworks by Starfire Corp., rides and concessions by Thomas Family Amusements, games, Italian-American entertainment, grand raffle with $24,000 total prize money, basket raffle and baby doll dance.

Hubbard St. Patrick Church, 357 N. Main St., will host its 61st annual festival Thursday through Sunday. Hours of operation will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday; from 5 p.m. to midnight Saturday; and from 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday. There will be food (made by parishioners), games, rides, raffles and bingo. Entertainment will include Fabulous Flashbacks, Demos Pappadimas, The House Band, Hern Brothers Band and Generation Rock featuring Leanne Binder. Liberty Alumni Association will host its second annual Fall Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at the L.Y.R.I.C. Vendors who wish to sell their crafts or professional goods are needed. Cost is $20 for a 10x10 space. The event will include “Touch a Truck” with Liberty police and fire and the Youngstown Air Reserve Station, along with children’s games and prizes. FUNDRAISERS

NOMS Ankle & Foot Care Centers will host its 21st annual Diabetes Golf Benefit that will take place Aug. 23 at Pine Lakes Golf Club, 6233 W. Liberty St. Proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Partnership of the Mahoning Valley, which provides education, resources and support for people and families living with diabetes in the community. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10:30. Cost is $100 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, lunch (served on the course), dinner (served at the pavilion), beverages on the course and skills contests. Players can sign up as a foursome, individuals or pairs. Hole sponsors, corporate sponsors, golfers and donations are still needed.

Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County will host Steel Valley Woofstock 2 that will take place from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at Tiffany Manor, 601 Bedford Road SE, Brookfield. Proceeds will benefit the Animal Welfare League. Entertainment will include 2nd Avenue Project, The Labra Brothers and Generation Rock. There will be a cash bar, 50-50 drawing, basket auction and more. Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, will host a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. St. Christine Church youth program will host a Trunk to Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the youth program and the Small Heroes Foundation, which assists in finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
