Lowellville club to host gun show

The Mahoning Valley Gun Collectors will have a gun show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27 and 28 at the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road.

Admission is $5. Buy, sell and trade all types of guns, hunting and fishing equipment and collectibles. All firearms must be unloaded and are subject to inspection before entering.

Mill Creek park board OKs fishing-rule change

The Mill Creek MetroParks Board of Park Commissioners approved a fishing rule change at a recent board meeting.

The new rule states fishing in park district waters is permitted in accordance with Ohio Division of Wildlife regulations from March 1 through Nov. 30 of each calendar year.

Fishing is permitted in all creeks, streams, lakes and ponds unless otherwise prohibited by the park district.

Under the previous rule, fishing was permitted only in waters south of Lake Newport Dam, south of Lake Glacier Dam to the Lake Cohasset Dam and Yellow Creek, and at other facilities with special permission.

Lowellville club plans Hunter education class

The Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will have a hunter education class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 17 and 18.

Participants must attend both sessions. All materials and lunch will be provided.
