Food sales and dinners through Feb. 6

THURSDAY

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will have a pirogi sale. The cost is $6 per dozen. Potato, cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi are available. Phone orders will be taken from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday. Call 330-542-3525 to order. Pick up will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, has canceled pirogi sales this week.

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter and coffee. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $8 and will be available until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will host a dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Meals feature a choice of haddock, chicken or shrimp with fries, coleslaw and a roll for $10.50. Pirogi or an extra piece of fish are $4.50; haluski for $3.50; and a child’s dinner is $5.50. Meals are carryout or eat-in. Beverages will be available. For information, call 330-654-5630.

Canfield Lions will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish, french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. Cost is $12 and will be takeout or dine-in.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, has canceled pirogi sales for this week.

St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell has canceled its pirogi sale this week.

SUNDAY

Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus 3930 will sponsor a sausage and pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parish center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. The menu consists of sausage and a variety of “all-you-can-eat” pancakes and beverages. The cost for adults is $5 and $3 for children 12 and younger.

Pacentrano Club, 2629 Craiger Ave., is serving spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. The dinners are $9 each for sit-down or takeout. For information or to place takeout orders, call 330-788-3393.

Southington American Legion Post will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, Southington. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Children younger than 4 eat for free. Menu includes pancakes, sausage, French toast, biscuits and gravy.

St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 U.S. state Route 422, Pulaski, Pa., will host John’s Breakfast Brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu includes french toast, sweet cheese filling, buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes, with choice of maple or peach syrup, scrambled eggs, eggs scrambled with peppers, onions and cheese, home fries, bacon, sausage, ham, toast, cinnamon rolls, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, juice and milk. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor its monthly Sauce and Song event with a spaghetti dinner and concert and will benefit nine-month-old Derek Markley Jr., who was born with a cleft lip and no palate. The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Chapter 143 of Youngstown State University, is the cosponsor. There will be a basket raffle and 50-50 raffle. Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the concert is set for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under. Carryout will be available with containers provided. The concert is free and open to the community. Donations accepted. TAKING ORDERS

St. John the Baptist Cultural Society at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish will take orders for haluski with cabbage or cottage cheese and homemade dumplings from Feb. 25 to March 3 for $6 per quart. Pickup will take place from 4 to 5 :30 p.m. March 4 or from 10 a.m. to noon March 5 at St. John the Baptist Church Hall, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell.

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 220 N. Walnut St., across from Choffin Career Center, is taking orders for spanakopita, gyros, souvlaki, pastitso and rice pudding today through Sunday. Community Kitchen, 551 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will host a breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9, sponsored by the the Knights of Columbus 3930. Menu includes a variety of pancakes, sausage and more. Free-will offerings are welcome.

Holy Apostles Parish, Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, will host a Swiss steak dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 24 in the church hall. Menu includes Swiss steak, potato, salad, vegetable, bread, butter, dessert and coffee, tea or water. Cost is $12 for adults and $7 for children. Eat in or carry-outs are available. St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, will host an eat-in or carryout roast beef dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 10. The menu includes roast beef, mashed potatoes, vegetables, soup, salad and dessert. All tickets will be sold in advance only at $15 for adults and $8 for children age 12 and younger. Sharon First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., will host a chicken pie dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9. Cost for adults is $10 and $5 for children age 12 and under. Takeout will be available.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown, will host a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 9. Donations accepted; proceeds benefit World Service Projects.

St. John Orthodox Church, 2220 Reeves Road NE, Warren, will have a fish fry dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8 and 22. Menu includes baked or fried cod or shrimp, macaroni and cheese, french fries, cole slaw, dessert and drink for $11. Call ahead for take-out dinners at 330-372-3895.
