Staff report

Snow-mageddon 2019 hasn’t hit the Mahoning Valley yet, but some athletic events have already been postponed.

Start times of other contests have been moved up in anticipation of the first major winter storm of the season, which is expected to impact the area in earnest Saturday.

Youngstown State has announced its men’s basketball game against Northern Kentucky, originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Beeghly Center, has been moved to 1 p.m. The scheduled 1 p.m. Sunday NKU-YSU women’s game has not been affected as of yet.

The Youngstown City Schools have postponed all events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, including Chaney-East boys basketball game that has been moved to Feb. 16.

Also postponed is a McDonald-Valley Christian boys game.

At least three girls games have been affected. Poland-Struthers was moved to today at the Struthers Fieldhouse; Sebring-Leetonia was moved to Feb. 2 at Leetonia.

Also, the JV start time for the Canfield-Boardman game has been moved to 10:30 a.m. at Boardman.
