Model train sale, show is Sunday
SALEM
Youngstown Model Railroad Association’s annual winter flea market and train show will take place Sunday at Salem Center Plex, 1098 Ellsworth Ave, next to the Salem Community Center, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 (free for children under age 12). Parking is free at the center, and a shuttle bus will transport those who park at the municipal lot at Waterworth Park.
The show will feature a 70-foot-long operating layout. There will also be more than 200 dealer tables with merchandise for all model railroad scales and interests, as well as railroad books, DVDs and memorabilia.
Triple Play jazz trio coming to Ford hall

Jazz trio Triple Play will come to Ford Family Recital Hall, 260 W. Federal St., downtown, on March 30 for a 7 p.m. concert.

The act is comprised of Peter “Madcat” Ruth (harmonica, guitar, jaw harp, percussion and vocals), Joel Brown (folk and classical acoustic guitar and vocals) and Chris Brubeck (electric bass, bass trombone, piano and vocals). Brubeck is the son of the late jazz great Dave Brubeck.
Triple Play is known for its spirited performances of folk, blues, jazz and classical music.
With an ever-expanding repertoire, the trio plays concert halls, clubs and festivals across the country, performing many of Brubeck’s symphonic arrangements with orchestras.
