A summary of recent criminal activity in Austintown and the city of Canfield:

AUSTINTOWN

Feb. 21

Arrest: A traffic stop near Meridian Road resulted in Molly L. Lord’s arrest. Lord, 23, of Pembrook Road, Austintown, was wanted on a warrant accusing her of failing to appear in court on a traffic offense.

Burglary: Took place at a home in the 4300 block of Kerrybrook Drive, from which a jewelry box and a stuffed animal were taken.

Fraud: A South Saratoga Avenue man told police he received a letter from Long Beach, Calif., regarding a parking citation that had been written to the driver of a Jeep last November on which were his license-plate numbers, even though the man had never been to California or owned such a vehicle.

Possible theft: A wallet was lost or stolen in the 5300 block of West Rockwell Road.

Identity theft: A Staatz Drive resident found that unauthorized charges had been made to a debit-card account.

Theft: Three dealer license plates were stolen from Fyda Freightliner Youngstown Inc., 5260 Seventy-Six Drive.

Feb. 22

Arrest: Authorities took John J. Pavlick, 34, into custody at his Idlewood Road home after determining the Austintown man was wanted on a Warren Municipal Court warrant charging him with simple assault.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 1300 block of Northfield Drive sustained damage.

Possible child endangerment: Police received word that a child had been left outdoors in the 100 block of North Roanoke Avenue, though no charges were filed at the time of the report.

Arrest: After responding to a report of a suspicious car on South Navarre Avenue, officers arrested Richard W. Lightner, 35, of South Main Street, Austintown. He was wanted on two Youngstown Municipal Court warrants.

Feb. 23

Drugs: Police received several calls pertaining to a motorist on Mahoning Avenue who may have been intoxicated or under the influence of drugs before filing a drug-abuse charge against Lee H. Baker, 36, of Winchester Drive, Austintown. Baker had in his vehicle an unlabeled bottle with 42 blue pills that were a controlled substance; in addition, he admitted having removed the label, authorities alleged.

Theft: A wallet was stolen at a restaurant in the 3700 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Overdose: A man, 38, was given naloxone to reverse the effects of opioids after a reported drug overdose in the 4500 block of Plumbrook Avenue.

Feb. 24

Arrest: Authorities responded to a vehicular accident on North Wickliffe Circle before charging Eric C. Seybert, 56, of North Main Street, Austintown, with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, menacing and obstructing official business after alleging he continually screamed obscenities at police and threatened the driver whose vehicle Seybert had struck with his van after the victim followed Seybert when he fled from the accident scene. An intoxicated and agitated Seybert also struggled with officers, causing one of them to fall, and refused to follow their commands even after they had to use a stun gun to bring him under control, a report stated.

Menacing: Youngstown police on Mahoning Avenue handed to Austintown authorities Jalaya C. Kitchen, 18, of Broadway, Youngstown, who faced a menacing charge, related to an incident earlier this month in which two people at Casal Aveda Institute, an accredited beauty school at 6000 Mahoning Ave., alleged having heard Kitchen threaten to harm a student there.

Domestic violence: Martin R. Planey, 48, of Penny Lane, Austintown, was charged with the crime after the mother of his four children alleged that during an argument related to money, Planey grabbed her throat with one hand and pulled her hair with the other before fleeing from the residence.

Summons: After answering a call about a suspicious man on South Raccoon Road, officers wrote a summons charging Kevin Anderson of West Rayen Avenue, Youngstown, with disorderly conduct. An officer saw Anderson, 47, urinating outside of a restaurant in the area, a report indicated.

Harassment: A Cedarwood Drive man said his former spouse has been sending him such text messages.

Feb. 25

Overdose: A 14-year-old boy was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman after a reported drug overdose at a North Roanoke Avenue residence.

Feb. 26

Arrest: After pulling over a suspicious vehicle on Paisley Street, authorities charged Lorraine L. Latone of Celeste Circle, Austintown, with operating a vehicle impaired. Latone, 59, registered a 0.174 blood-alcohol content, more than double Ohio’s 0.08 legal intoxication limit, a report showed.

CANFIELD

Feb. 21

Summons: A traffic stop on North Broad Street resulted in a summons charging Amanda Durkin, 23, of Indian Run Drive, Canfield, with driving under a license-forfeiture suspension.

Feb. 22

Citation: Authorities on East Main Street cited a 16-year-old Canfield boy on a charge of reckless operation of a motor vehicle on private property.

Feb. 23

Arrest: After responding to a three-vehicle crash on East Main Street, police charged Margo Jacobs of Catawba Circle, Canfield, with operating a vehicle impaired. Jacobs, 39, also was cited on a charge of failing to maintain an assured clear distance.

Summons: Officers on Lisbon Road wrote a summons charging Thomas Platt, 24, of Vine Street, Salem, with driving under suspension.
