BOARDMAN

St. Charles Borromeo Church was the setting at 1:30 p.m. July 14, 2018, as Sarah Smith and Phillip Skowron, both of Boardman, were united in marriage.

The Rev. Gerald DeLucia officiated, and a reception followed that evening at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Youngstown.

The bride is a daughter of Audrey Smith of Boardman and the late Garry Smith. Ronald and Denise Skowron of Youngstown are the groom’s parents.

Adele Wright and Alexis Bucci shared the duties of maid of honor.

Bridesmaids, gowned in various shades of pink, were Doris Stanko; Sara Skowron, sister-in-law of the groom; Veronica Skowron, sister of the groom; and Taylor Perry and Mallory Vidman, cousins of the bride;

The flower girl was Lydia Skowron, the groom’s niece.

Best men were Nick Lucarell and Michael Cartwright, and groomsmen were Dave Porter; Jonathan Skowron, the groom’s brother; James Berry; William Thornton and David Zidian.

The ring bearer was Brady Davis, godson of the groom.

Ushers were Trenton Vidman and Michael and Matthew Perry, all cousins of the bride.

The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a master’s degree in education. She is an elementary-school counselor at Western Reserve Local Schools.

The groom graduated from YSU with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He is a patrolman with the Youngstown City Police Department.

The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and live in Boardman.
