Senior club to meet

CANFIELD

The Canfield AARP 3104 will meet at the Canfield Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Sept. 9. Blood pressure readings will be available from noon to 12:45 prior to the meeting. There will be the annual covered dish in-house picnic. Table service will be provided. Those whose last names begin with A throguh H are asked to bring a casserole; those whose last names begin with I through Z are asked to bring a salad or dessert. Label each serving dish and bring a serving utensil. The meeting will include games and prizes. The October meeting will feature “Italy at its Finest” with Barbara Sierp, who will discuss the second half of her Italy trip. For membership information, call Connie at 330-332-0121.

Helping Hands Closet

CANFIELD

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, has nearly new clothes for the entire family. September specials will include all inventory for $1, excluding jewelry and white ticket (fall) items. There is a large infant through teen department. Store hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday.

Winery to host fundraiser

SALEM

The Liebe Wein Winery, 530 E. State St., will host a free music event from 7 to 11 p.m. Sept. 7. Mike Webb and the Webbettes will entertain. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the McCulloch Park Renovation and Restoration project of Salem Preservation Society. Refreshments and food will be available. West Side Cats needs volunteers

West Side Cats, a nonprofit, no-kill cat rescue, is looking for volunteers to help care for rescue cats and kittens. Any amount of hours available will be acceptable. Also needed are foster volunteers. For information, call Marie at 330-519-5002.
