YOUNGSTOWN — The man found shot to death late Sunday afternoon in the 500 block of Sherwood Avenue has been identified as Anthony Bowers, 29.
He was found about 5 p.m. by officers answering a gunfire call lying in the street with gunshot wounds to the neck and chest. He was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
His death is the city's 14th homicide of the year. In 2018 Youngstown had 26 homicides. There were 12 homicides at this point of 2018.
YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating the 14th homicide of the year after a man was found shot to death about 5 p.m. Sunday on the South Side.
Officers investigating gunfire found the body near Sherwood Avenue.
