Cole Congson scored three goals while Tommy Fryda and Matthew DunLany each added one. Jake Hughes made three assist while Ryan Johnston and Congson each had one. Goalkeeper Egan Hare made three saves and Carson Essadone for the Spartans.
For the Cardinals, Erik Vargo made eight saves.

CANFIELD
Hannah Stein scored four goals in the Cardinals’ first win. Alli Malinky, Morgan Carey, Lauren Yohman and Camryn Kohout also scored. Chloe Kalina had two assists while Sabrina Goodrich and Malinky each had one. Bayann Jadallah didn’t have to record a save in goal for the shutout. Molly Hoskin stopped 15 shots for Fairview.

Chloe Schultz had 24 kills and Mia Pantalone added 18 in a marathon game for Howland. Claire Summerfield and Mackenzie Karabin each scored 12 points and Kathryn Summerfield dished 44 assists. Lexi Inman had 16 kills for Lakeview. Maggie Pavlansky had 19 assists and 11 points.

Tara Arthurs led the Lions (2-0) with six kills, five points and two blocks. Emma Hall added four kills, four points and seven digs. Lydia Wilson dished 14 assists and had 10 digs. Makayla Osborn had six points, three kills and three digs. No stats were reported for Maplewood.

Canfield took third place at the Midwest Classic with a score of 357. Madison Murphy led the Cardinals by shooting 82 as the individual runner-up. Haley Tisone (89), Jackie Kinnick (92), Ava Staebler (94) and Eileen McHale (100) rounded out the Cardinals’ scoring. Cardinal Mooney took fifth place with a score of 374. Jayne Bernard led Mooney by shooting 92. Poland (398) finished in 12th place.
