THURSDAY
Boardman Lions will sponsor a pasta dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. at Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St. The menu will include pasta, salad and bread. Desserts will be provided by the Lions Club. Coffee and lemonade also will be provided by the club (dine-in only). Take-out is available. Proceeds will be used for the community. Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will host a creamed chicken takeout only dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. FRIDAY
Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $2. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 330-792-1005.
SUNDAY
St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will host its annual Celebration of St. Rocco at 10 a.m. for a service and dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Menu will include homemade cavatelli, meatballs, bread, tossed salad, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 and there will be a 50-50 raffle and basket auction. Proceeds will benefit the church. Take out will be available. For information, call 330-758-2727 or email office@stjamesboardman.com.
VFW Post 2799 Auxiliary will host a homestyle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the post home, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield. Menu includes eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes, freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will host a drive through spaghetti dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 22. Menu will include spaghetti with the church’s meat sauce, tossed salad, roll and butter and dessert. Cost is $8 per dinner (cash only), and proceeds will assist with ministry expenses. Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road (state Route 62), Canfield, will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out Sept. 5. Menu includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, applesauce and dessert. Cost is $10. Eat in or drive through will be available.
