‘Jesus vs. Zombies’ at Rust Belt
Rust Belt Theater Company’s new and original musical comedy “Jesus vs. Zombies” will continue this weekend and next, with performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and also April 26 and 27. The theater is in the Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $15 ($10 for senior citizens and students); call 330-507-2358 for reservations. Written by Robert Dennick Joki and Josh Taylor, this show follows a struggling community theater that is looking for its next big show. Having to choose between a gospel-inspired play that will appeal to conservative theatergoers and a zombie bloodbath that will attract the “alternative” crowd, it winds up with a very different kind of Passion Play.
