YOUNGSTOWN

Anne Garwig and David Lucas were united in marriage July 22, 2017, during a ceremony at First Unitarian Universalist Church in Youngstown that was officiated by Kristina Spaude. A reception took place that evening at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens.

The bride’s parents are Glenn and Heidi Garwig of Boardman.

The groom is a son of Kimberly Lucas-Palm of Youngstown and the late David Lucas Sr.

The bride wore a mermaid-style satin and tulle gown with silver beading and a fingertip veil adorned with beaded trim.

Shannon Bakies served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Phoebe Koehler and Carly Psenicka.

The responsibilites of best man were entrusted to Benjamin Lucas, brother of the groom. William Happney and Craig Wright, cousins of the groom, and Eric D’Avignon served as groomsmen.

The brothers of the bride, Joseph and Thomas Garwig, gave special readings.

Mrs. Lucas graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University and a master’s of fine arts from the NEOFMA Consortium.

Her husband earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Youngstown State University.

The couple traveled from Miami Beach Fla. to Key West for their honeymoon.

The couple have planned a yearlong trip to China where they will teach at Rutgers University’s business institute at Northeast Normal University in Changchun.
