Food sales and dinners through Oct. 10

THURSDAY

Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell pirogi. Call in orders to 330-755-1316 from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and beginning at 8 a.m. Friday. Choose potato, kraut or prune pirogi at $6 per dozen. Pickup will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $7 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter and coffee. Cost is $7.50 for adults and $4 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $8 and will be available until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 330-792-1005.

SATURDAY

Braceville United Methodist Church, off state Route 82, will sponsor a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 until 6:30 p.m. (or until sold out). The menu includes mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, coffee, tea or punch. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children. Takeout available.

Methodist United in Faith Churches will have a braised steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stoneboro Firehall. This is a mission fundraiser for flood victims. Proceeds go to UMCOR/Eastbrook Mission Barn and will help recent flood victims and other local disaster victims. Cost is $10 per person. Call 724-456-8738 or 724-699-1024 to reserve a ticket. North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima, will have an all-you-can-eat breakfast available for a donation from 7 to 10 a.m. Buffet items will include eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice and more. TAKING ORDERS

St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, is taking orders for chicken noodle and vegetable soups, chicken paprikash and stuffed cabbage. Cost is $6 per quart for soups; $8 per quart for paprikash; and $25 per dozen for stuffed cabbage. All orders must be made by Sunday by calling Tim Komara at 330-519-9036. Pickup will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the center.

St. Lucy Church Cultural Society is taking order for its homemade sauce and meatball sale. Sauce is $6 per quart and meatballs are $9 per dozen. UPCOMING

Aut-Mori Grotto will host its 12th annual pigs-in-a-blanket (cabbage roll) dinner from noon to 4 p.m. or until sold out Oct. 7. Menu includes stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, bread and butter, dessert and hot or cold (non-alcoholic) beverages. Cost is $10 per adult and $5 for children under 12. Immaculate Heart of Mary Knights of Columbus 3930 will sponsor a Swiss steak dinner Oct. 14 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, from noon to 5 p.m. Cost will be $10 per dinner. Menu includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, salad, bread and butter, desserts and beverages. Carryout and curbside service will be available. Included will be a basket auction and a 50-50 raffle. Proceeds benefit the men’s renewal program.

St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 U.S. state Route 422, Pulaski, Pa., will host John’s Breakfast Brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 7. Menu includes french toast, sweet cheese filling, buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes, with choice of maple or apple syrup, scrambled eggs, eggs scrambled with peppers, onions and cheese; home fries, bacon, sausage, ham, toast, cinnamon rolls, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, juice and milk. Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield Niles Road, Austintown, will host a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 10. Donations accepted for World Service Projects.

St. Maron Church, 1555 Meridian Road, Youngstown, will host its Lebanese Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 7. Menu includes chicken and lamb kabobs, kibbe, grapeleaves, rice and lubyia, hummus, tabbouli, pastries and Lebanese coffee and fresh saj bread. The dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the concert is set for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Youngstown Saxon Culture Group is sponsoring a sausage sale. Mild, hot and the group’s own Saxon flavor will be available. Cost is $3.50 per pound, available in 3-pound packages of links, or 5-pound packages of bulk. Pickup will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Saxon Club.
