Halloween is right around the corner and total spending on all holiday-related expenses is projected reach $9 billion this year, according to the personal-finance website WalletHub. Here’s a look at how it breaks down:

v $3.2 billion: Halloween costume spending

v $2.6 billion: Halloween candy spending

v 36 percent: Share of parents who think age 12 or 13 is old enough to trick-of-treat alone

v 72 percent: Share of parents admit to stealing candy from their kids

v $300+ million: Annual revenue from ticket sales for haunted attractions, 80 percent of which are run by charities

“Super Cats” (8 p.m., PBS): This new three-part documentary uncovers the secret lives of big cats that thrive in all four corners of the globe, from the solitary snow leopard to the nimble black-footed cat, seen through the latest camera technology and science. In tonight’s opening episode, viewers will meet the planet’s ultimate cats, from the famously fast cheetah to the lonesome snow leopard.

“CMT Crossroads” (10 p.m., CMT): Shawn Mendes and the Zac Brown Band perform in this series that pairs country artists with those from other genres.

YSU jazz combos in free concert

‘Rock of Ages’ at Thomas hall

The rock musical opened on Broadway in 2009 and played more than 2,300 performances, earning five Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. It was made into a film in 2012.

Night of Jazz at the Lake Club

Horror meets beauty in an exhibition of original works by artist James Holko that opens Saturday at Beautiful Whirl’d, 141A W. Market St., Courthouse Square, downtown.

An artist’s reception, free to the public, will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

On display will be horror, comic and celebrity-inspired original artwork by Holko. Works and prints will be for sale.
