YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University Theatre will open its season with “The Addams Family,” the creepy musical comedy based on the TV sitcom.

The show, directed by Matthew Mazuroski, runs from Friday to Oct. 28, with six weekend performances in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. All seats are general admission.

The macabre family is led by the elegantly gaunt and seemingly undead Morticia and her devoted husband, Gomez. Their daughter, Wednesday, now 18, finds herself falling in love – a sensation that is unsettling for both her and her family of misfits.

When the teen invites her new boyfriend, Lucas Beineke, over with his “normal” family to get better acquainted with the Addams household, comic chaos ensues.

Cast members include Ben Mowrer as Gomez Addams, Jessica Hirsh as Morticia Addams, Nathan Wagner as Uncle Fester, AnnMarie Lowerre as Grandma, Angelique Tanner as Wednesday Addams, Aislinn Lowry as Pugsley Addams; Max Stoddard as Lurch, DJ Davis as Mal Beineke; Makenzie Moorman as Alice Beineke; and Sam Gregory as Lucas Beineke.

Ensemble members include: Maria Cicco, Michael Callahan, Lexi Denney, Adam Dominick, Elijah DuPonty, Halla Henry, Tristen Kile, Monique Lopez, Vi-Trinh Luu, Daniel Navabi, Ciara Rosario, Destinee Thompson, and Haley Tura.

Season tickets are available in advance of the show at the box office and will also be available for purchase during the run of the show.
