The Vindicator Spelling Bee Grand Champion, Mackenzie Sambroak, a fifth-grade student at Roosevelt School in McDonald, was recently honored by the Downtown Youngstown Rotary and the Downtown Kiwanis Club at separate meetings that took place at the downtown YMCA. She received gift cards to iTunes and Barnes & Noble. The guest speaker for the Rotary luncheon was Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio. Above in front is Mackenzie.
