Scrap metal shuts I-376

Saturday, March 24, 2018

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Charges are pending after a driver crashed and dumped about 44,000 pounds of scrap metal he was hauling along Interstate 376 eastbound, Pennsylvania State Police said. The driver was not injured in the crash, which police said was speed-related. The PSP said the driver lost control of his vehicle on the exit ramp of I-376, and his vehicle rolled over and slid, blocking both lanes of the highway. I-376 and the exit ramp from I-376 to Interstate 80 were closed for about two hours.
