AUXILIARIES

Auxiliary of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital will meet at noon Monday in the private dining room of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Guest speaker will be Thomas Welsh, author of "A History of Jewish Youngstown and the Steel Valley."

CLUBS

Altrusa Club of Youngstown will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Firestone Farms Community Center. The meeting will include installation of the 2018-19 officers and members. Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday on the second floor of the Poland Library. This will be the last meeting.

Monday Night Writers will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. June 18 in the small meeting room at the Canfield Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, 43 W. DANCES

Friendly Squares will host its monthly square dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Niles Scope Center, 14 E. State St. Ed Pabst will be the caller, and Frankie Hammond will be calling line dances between the tips. This will be a high/low dance with tips for new and experienced dancers. Youngstown Area Weavers's Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Weaving Willow, 1888 Brookfield Road, Hubbard. Liz Andraso will lead basket weaving. Christmas cards also will be worked on. SOCIETIES

Salem Historical Society will meet Tuesday after a short business meeting at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Dale Shaffer Library. Entrance is off South Lundy with parking in the Timberlane’s parking lot. Guests and members will be greeted by Kevin Schafer. “The Packard Family Legacy” will be presented by Daniel Mathey, Packard Museum volunteer and Trumbull County Historical Society board member. William Holmes McGuffey Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. June 16 at Kravitz’s Deli, 3135 Belmont Ave., Liberty, in the meeting room. J.E. Ballantyne, community theater pioneer and author, will share his career as part of the “Memories of a Lifetime” presentation. He will discuss books he has written and share some of his experiences with working with Fred Rogers on “Mister Roger’s Neighborhood.” The presentation is open to the public. SUPPORT GROUPS

Diabetes Partnership of the Mahoning Valley will meet at 6 p.m. June 25 at Stonebridge Grille and Tavern, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, for the scholarship presentation. All are asked to respond before June 21. Discussions will include the upcoming Ankle and Foot golf outing scholarships, the Midlothian Free Health Clinic and more.

Grief Share Support Group, hosted by Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, meets Thursdays at 6 p.m. through Aug. 14. NAMI Mahoning Valley offers support and education to people and families dealing with serious mental illness. This group is specifically for individuals dealing with substance abuse and mental illness. Youngstown Area PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church Parish House, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. Meetings take place the second Tuesday of each month. Youngstown Area PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends and Allies) is a support, education and advocacy group united with LGBT People to move equality forward. PFLAG provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. Meetings are free and confidential.
