Gary and Diana Barnes of Austintown celebrated their 50th anniversary with a family gathering at Catholic War Vets in Youngstown on June 2.
The couple’s children are Gary (Sandi) Barnes Jr. of Mineral Ridge and Sheri (Jeff) Pluchinsky of Canfield.
Mackinzee Barnes and Brynn and Brooke Pluchinsky, the couple’s grandchildren, complete their family.
Mr. Barnes married the former Diana Smith on prom night, May 31, 1968. They eloped to Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Barnes volunteers for Catholic War Vets in Youngstown.
Mr. Barnes works at the YMCA and is the commander at Catholic War Vets in Youngstown, He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
The couple are members of Zion Lutheran Church in Cornersburg.
