Man, 83, cited for OVI after car mishap

YOUNGSTOWN

Reports said an elderly Campbell man cited for OVI Thursday had to be sedated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital because he was so combative.

Officers were called Thursday afternoon to 40 W. Midlothian Blvd., where a man there told police a car driven by Lorice Bonner, 83, of Coitsville Road in Campbell, swiped his car in the parking lot and then failed to stay when the driver asked him to wait for police.

Reports said Bonner eventually stopped and when police arrived he smelled of alcohol, could barely walk and when he tried to walk over to police, he fell and hit his head on the pavement.

Paramedics took Bonner to the hospital to be examined for his injuries and officers also got a blood sample to test for blood alcohol content, reports said. He was given his citations and a court date.
