Mecca clerk Drawl has another day in court

WARREN

A judge gave Deborah Drawl's attorney an additional two months to prepare for a hearing today on whether Drawl should be removed as Mecca Township fiscal officer, but the hearing didn't appear to have been necessary.

Judge Andrew Logan asked the Ohio Attorney General's Office and Atty. Mike Rossi today if either had any witnesses to present, and both said they did not.

Rossi said he would be filing one more brief in the case by Friday, but Judge Logan said he would rule on the case after that.

A lengthy hearing was held at the end of November in which several witnesses talked the bad condition of the financial books for the township. But Rossi has argued that the reason for the problem is that township officials would not provide the money for Drawl to get the needed training.
