Teacher job fair underway in Canfield
CANFIELD — People lined up out the door for a job fair for teachers at the Mahoning Valley Career & Technical Center this afternoon.
Fourteen school districts and education services are set up at the Joyce Brooks Center for the Mahoning County Regional Job Fair from noon to 3 p.m. today. A focus of this year’s job fair is getting people with four-year college degrees certified for substitute teaching work.
Don Dailey, director of the Mahoning Valley Regional Council of Governments, said substitute teaching is an avenue into a full-time teaching job.
“Here’s an option where they can get into the classroom and teach,” Dailey said. “That’s what it’s all about.”
