Hubbard man charged after threatening officers

HUBBARD — Police arrested David Deiley, 40, on a charge of aggravated menacing after he threatened to kill police officers, according to a report.

The report said police were sent to the 300 block of Drummond Avenue on Monday evening after a caller said there was a conflict between Deiley and his son. When officers arrived, they heard yelling, and the officers ordered Deiley to come outside when he appeared at the door, the report said.

Deiley ran further into the house, and when officers entered he yelled at them to leave, the report said.

When officers asked to see Deiley's hands, he wouldn't comply, and told officers they would have to shoot him, the report said. Deiley's son tried to enter the room but officers prevented from entering , police said.

Then, the report said, Deiley threatened to kill the officers for touching his son and charged at an officer, at which point Deiley was stunned and detained by the officer, the report said.

Police said Deiley told the officers if they are bringing more cruisers to the house that they better bring guns, and police said they noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

Paramedics arrived to assess Deiley, and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
