Food sales and dinners through Jan. 23

A listing of food sales and dinners is published Wednesday and include a list of upcoming sales.

THURSDAY

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for fresh potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. or until sold out Thursday and at 10:30 a.m. Friday, if available, by calling 330-746-9528. Pick up will be from 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Lunches will be served Friday.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $7 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, (state Route 46 at Kirk Road in Austintown), will serve a free Supper at the Corner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. This supper is a community outreach of the church and is open to all each month. Donations accepted to continue this program.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, will host a takeout beef tips and noodles dinner from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Menu consists of Angus beef tips, homestyle noodles, mixed vegetables, roll with butter and homemade cookie. Cost is $8 per dinner. Takeout only. FRIDAY

Christ the Good Shepherd Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will host pirogi sales. Call in orders to 330-755-1316 Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with pickup from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Choose potato, kraut or prune pirogi at $6 per dozen.

Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935, 122 S. State St., will host a fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals are $9 for adults and $4.50 for children 4 to 12, and children under 4 eat for free. Takeout is available. For information call 330-545-3432.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 330-792-1005.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order, call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $7 a dozen. No containers are necessary. Walk-ins are welcome. Use the side entrance.

Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Takeout will be available at 3:30 p.m. Menu includes spaghetti with meatballs, salad bar, bread and butter, cake, coffee, tea or punch. First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, will sell chicken noodle soup, potato soup, homemade pepperoni rolls, fresh-baked bread and homemade sticky buns. Soup is $5 per quart and $3 per pint. Pepperoni rolls are $8 for a large and $2.50 for a single. Bread is $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf. Sticky buns are four for $2.50. Orders must be placed by today by calling 330-759-1460. After deadline for orders, items will be only as available. Pickup will take place at the church from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

SUNDAY

Fowler Fire Department will host its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station on state Route 193. Cost is $6 for seniors, $7 for adults, $5 for children and preschool age children eat for free.

Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., will host a roast beef dinner from noon to 2 p.m., sponsored by the men’s organization. Proceeds will benefit missions projects. Tickets will be $8 and sold at the door. Cost for children 12 and younger will be $4. For information, call 330-876-4485.

Knights of Columbus 3930 is sponsoring a benefit pasta dinner from noon to 5 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Menu includes pasta, meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, desserts and beverages. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children age 6 to 12 and children under 6 eat for free. There will be a 50-50 raffle and a basket auction. All proceeds benefit Gina Dunn, diagnosed with cancer after treatments of chemotherapy and radiation.

Southington American Legion Post will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the legion home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $4 for children 12 under and free for children under 4. Sausage, French toast and sausage or biscuits and gravy also are offered.

Youngstown Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will host its pork-kraut dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $9.50, and children $5. Meal includes dessert and coffee, tea or pop. Public is welcome and take-out orders are available.

VFW Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will offer a homestyle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. Menu includes eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea. Cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

TAKING ORDERS

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, is taking orders for vegetable soup. Cost is $6 per quart. Pre-orders are required by calling the church at 330-799-9390. Pickup will take place Jan. 26 and 27.

UPCOMING

Aut Mori Grotto will host its monthly AYCE pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 27 at the Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave. Menu will include all-you-can-eat pancakes only, link sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, potatoes, coffee and juice. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12, and children under 3 eat for free. Proceeds benefit Grotto charities and the building fund. For information, call Pudge at 330-720-2660. Carry outs are available, and the facility is handicap accessible.

Braceville United Methodist Church, off state Route 82, will serve a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out Jan. 27. Menu includes mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread, coffee, tea or punch. The cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children. Takeout will be available.

Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, will offer drive-through chicken dinners from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 25. Menu includes chicken Parmesan, spaghetti, three bean salad, roll with butter and cake. Cost is $9. Cash only. Proceeds will go toward ministry expenses. Patrons will receive $1 off the purchase price if a can of vegetables is given to donate to the Rescue Mission or other organization. Drive to the back door to be served. New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will host a free community breakfast from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 27. All are welcome.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will host a creamed chicken on biscuit takeout dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Jan. 27. Menu also includes mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under age 10. St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Road, Youngstown, will host a chicken noodle soup family-style dinner with choice of roast beef or chicken breast stuffed with ham, salad, dessert and coffee or tea.
