Book Discussion: The Hidden Life of Trees

What: Peter Wohlleben’s “The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, How They Communicate - Discoveries from a Secret World” draws on his own observations and scientific discoveries to make a case that forests and the trees within them exhibit their own complex social structure, similar to human families – complete with the ability to share and communicate. Read the book, then join our discussion to share your thoughts.

Sunday Morning Paddle

When: Sunday, 8-10 a.m.

What: Enjoy a relaxing guided paddle with naturalist Nick Parish.

Where: East Newport Boat Launch, East Newport Drive, Youngstown.

Cost: $12 for Mahoning County residents, $15 NR; half price for second person in tandem.
