ASSOCIATIONS

Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of ABWA will have its monthly meeting Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. A social will take place at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will follow at 6. Dinner will be a picnic buffet of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, fruit and dessert. Cost is $16. Members may sign up for duty for the basket auction that will take place in September at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. CLUBS

Altrusa Club of Youngstown will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Olive Garden in Boardman. The meeting will include discussion of upcoming projects and events for the next club year. Round Table Woodcarvers meet every Thursday from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at the Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Anyone interested in learning about carving is welcome to attend. For information, call 330-792-4355.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Warren Women's Connection, an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries, will host a luncheon titled "Just Smile" from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at DiLucia's Banquet Center, 2610 Elm Road NE. There will be a presentation on dental health by Rudy Braydich, local dentist. Inspirational speaker is Suzanne Updike, and the topic is "Free Gifts." She is a teacher and former "anxiety queen" and will share her journey through post-partum depression. All teachers in attendance will be honored with a gift. SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. The group has scheduled the following activities: today, card night at Denny's on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown from 6 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, River Rock at the AMP to see "Disco Inferno," meet at Mocha House in Niles at 5 p.m.; Tuesday,bocce at Boardman Park at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank from 5 to 7 p.m.; Thursday, small talk night at the church at 7:30 p.m.; and next Friday, music and dinner at Trax's Lounge in Austintown at 6 p.m.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown; and 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman. Family members and caregivers are welcome to attend. All meetings are offered at no charge. Grief Share Support Group, hosted by Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, Liberty, is meeting at 6 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 14. NAMI Mahoning Valley offers Connections support groups for adults living with mental illness, in a discussion format, to promote self-disclosure in a safe, relaxed, supportive and confidential environment. Connections meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 6 p.m. at Alta Care Building, 142 Javit Court, Austintown. NAMI Mahoning Valley also offers Family Support Groups that provide information and support for family members and friends of individuals with mental illness. Family groups meet the first Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. at Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St.; and the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Alta Care, 142 Javit Court.
