Patrick and Peggy Alcorn of Poland are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Emily A. Alcorn, to Nathaniel A. Buttram, both of Arlington, Va.
Mr. Buttram is the son of Richard and Christine Buttram of Osage Beach, Mo.
The ceremony will take place Aug. 3 at St. Luke Church in Boardman with a reception that evening at The Vineyards at Pine Lake in Columbiana. The ceremony is open, and invitations will be issued for the reception.
The bride-elect graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in vocal music education. She earned a master’s degree in vocal performance and literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an annual fund and events coordinator for the Cathedral Choral Society in Washington, D.C.
The prospective groom earned a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Truman State University as well as a master’s degree in vocal performance and literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is employed at Music and Arts in Oakton, Va.
