The Canfield Local School District is announcing a plan to make it easier for parents and students to find out what’s on the school lunch menu. The district recently launched the YumYummi mobile app, which lists each school’s menus daily, weekly or monthly. It also identifies dishes containing allergens like dairy, eggs, fish, peanuts, pork, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat/gluten. The app, YumYummi, can be downloaded to any smart phone or android device. Students and parents can also vote on and send feedback to their school about their favorite dishes, as well as participate in food taste surveys to have a voice in future menu designs. The district is the first in the area to use the app.
