ASSOCIATIONS
American Association of University Women, Youngstown branch, will meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., for a brief business meeting before attending a 6 p.m. public forum on education at the church. The forum will be led by the education committee of the Youngstown League of Women Voters to explore what the values and purpose of the public education system are and the effects of charters and vouchers on public education.

Boardman Lions Club will host its first Celebrity Bartender fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Carmella’s Cafe, 805 E. Western Reserve Road, Suite 8. Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini will be the celebrity bartender. All tips raised will be used locally in the Boardman community.

Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. will have its monthly meeting Saturday at the McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road. The GFWC/Ohio Boardman Poland Junior Women's League is hosting its second Quarter Auction on Oct. 21 at Saint Nicholas Social Hall, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers.
