Suspects sought

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are searching for two suspects they believe were involved in an East Liverpool shooting early Sunday, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner. East Liverpool police said a man was shot in the head at Woodland Hill Apartments, and they believe suspects Deandre Dozier and Randy Otis are now in the Youngstown area. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the East Liverpool Police Department at 330-385-1234.

Crash victim ID’d

CANFIELD

The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the name of the man who died in a one-vehicle accident in Canfield early Saturday. The Canfield Post confirmed Ryan Lanzo, 23, was killed around 3 a.m. Saturday. Troopers said Lanzo was with Michael Malvasi in a white Mercedes Benz SUV going west on Route 62, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner. The SUV went off the right side of the road, hit a tree and overturned after failing to follow a curve in the road. Authorities are trying to determine who was driving the car when it crashed, according to 21 WFMJ-TV.

Two-vehicle crash

WARREN

A two-vehicle crash in Warren sent two passengers to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Lover’s Lane and Parkman Road about 1:20 p.m.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

YSU fundraiser

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown State University Honors College raised $2,800 last month with its first “Y Are You Running?” 5K run/walk on the YSU campus. More than 200 runners participated in the race.

Top female finisher, Hannah Sprowl, and top male finisher, Ryan Roush, were each awarded $1,400 to donate to the Mahoning Valley organization of their choosing.

Sprowl, who ran a time of 23:36, donated her portion of the proceeds to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley in Boardman.

Roush, a graduate student, with a time of 15:02, donated his $1,400 to the Midlothian Free Health Clinic in Youngstown. The clinic, staffed by volunteer doctors and nurses, provides health-care services to the uninsured.

Breakfast with Santa

BOARDMAN

A Breakfast with Santa event to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 2 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave.

The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 10. Reservations are required and may be made online at www.akronchildrens.org/mvbreakfastwithsanta or by calling 330-746-8712.

Breakfast with Santa is a community event that includes a breakfast buffet, visits with Santa, a parade of many familiar local mascots, family fun activities, face painting, local entertainment and a chance auction. All children will receive a special gift. All proceeds stay local.

Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC is the presenting sponsor. Baird Brothers Sawmill and Diamond Steel Construction are other major sponsors.
