Youngstown police arrest woman in stabbing of man at her South Side home

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown police arrested a Willis Avenue woman Saturday night in connection with the stabbing of a man in the neck in her home.

The woman, 26, who said she was nine months pregnant, was transported to Northside Regional Medical Center from which she was released after examination and taken to the Mahoning County jail and charged with felonious assault.

According to the police report, when police arrived at the scene, the victim was sitting on the porch of a nearby Willis Avenue home, bleeding from an apparent stab wound of the neck and cuts on his hands, which the victim told officers he got defending himself.

The victim said he was sitting on his bed watching football when the attack occurred.

He said he did not know the reason for the attack. The incident remains under investigation, according to the police report.

The relationship between the victim and the suspected assailant was not known.
