YOUNGSTOWN — A Shirley Road man who was treated for an overdose Monday afternoon was arrested after police found a burnt spoon, needles and a crack pipe inside his home.

Reports said police and paramedics were called about 1 p.m. to the home where they found Demetrius Tinker, 36, who told them he had shot $20 worth of heroin into his arm and then became ill, at one time losing consciousness.

Reports said he appeared pale and sweaty.

A records check found Tinker has a warrant from municipal court and he was also charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

He was treated at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and was later released to police and booked into the Mahoning County jail.
