City woman to be extradited to Missouri

AUSTINTOWN

A woman will be extradited to Missouri after she was arrested on a warrant.

Denise Tarr, 36, of Youngstown, was pulled over after police realized she had an active warrant out of the 11th Judicial Circuit Court in St. Charles, Mo.

The warrant, issued Oct 16, 2016, was for endangering the welfare of a child. Austintown police arrested Tarr on Mahoning Avenue without incident.

Warren woman in overdose incident pleads guilty

WARREN

Alaina M. Infante, 31, of Norwood Street Northwest, pleaded guilty Friday to possession of drug-abuse instruments and fined $250 and court costs after she was found unresponsive from an apparent drug overdose at her house Thursday.

At 9:30 a.m., a Niles man said Infante had called her saying she had just taken some drugs and “thought she was going to overdose.”

He went to her home and found her unconscious and barely breathing. He found a drug syringe next to her, he said.

An officer administered a dose of the opiate-reversal drug Naloxone that appeared to have no effect. She received more of the drug when ambulance personnel arrived, and she regained consciousness.

She told police the man had actually brought the drugs to her and “shot her up with them.” No charge was filed against the man.

Fire dept. receives ‘excellent’ rating

LAKE MILTON

The Milton Township Fire Department has received an “excellent” rating after a recent insurance evaluation, which may net residents of the area significant insurance savings.

The Insurance Service Office – an independent rating organization – ranks fire departments on their overall fire protection for the communities they serve.

In the organization’s 1 to 10 scale, the higher a number, the less prepared a department is to best serve their community.

Until recently, the fire department had an “8B” rating. After its most recent check, the department received a 4 rating, which is considered “excellent” on the scale’s reporting system.

According to a statement issued by the fire department, a 4 rating is on par with many other full-time fire departments throughout Mahoning County.
