At Massillon Perry
Valley Christian long jumper Dante Yanno won the regional meet with a leap of 23 feet one inch to qualify for next week’s state track meet. McDonald’s Zach Gray was second with a throw of 146 feet 8 inches. Maplewood’s 4x800 relay team finished third and Mineral Ridge’s fourth to also earn a trip to Columbus. The Rockets are Adam Burgard, Ethan Sparks, Nick Cowger and Jake Hall while the Rams are Jacob Colon, Palmer Cameron, Justin Cox and Dylan Hvisc. In the girls meet, United’s Camryn Jarrett won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet. Lordstown’s Cadence Lickwar was fourth. Mineral Ridge shot putter Clari Chiclowe was second with a throw of 40 feet 10 inches. McDonald’s 4x800 relay team (Sela Jones, Anna Huerra, Bella Wolford, Malina Mitchell) was second.
