Campbell students harvest hydroponic plants

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Campbell Elementary Middle School added a hydroponic learning lab as a part of its Youngstown State University After School Program. Students have harvested their plants and have eaten snacks made from the harvest. They harvested lettuce, kale, basil and swiss chard, and made salads and kale chips with the help of cafeteria staff. There were enough vegetables for students and teachers to take some home. Students, from left, are Juliexies Aponte, Emily Snitzer, Aniya Ellis and Vasilios Krinos.
