BOARDMAN

A Youngstown man faces a felony domestic-violence charge after being accused of repeatedly punching a pregnant woman in the face and stomach.

Aubrey Foose, 22, of Schenley Avenue is charged with fourth-degree felony domestic violence in the incident reported to township police Tuesday night.

Police were called to the area of Hopkins Road and South Schenley about 11:15 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that a man was “beating up” a woman in a vehicle, according to a police report.

The purported victim, whose young child was with her, told police that she had agreed to give Foose a ride somewhere. Foose then reportedly began arguing with her about her pregnancy.

In addition to threatening her life and the life of her unborn child, Foose reportedly “aggressively punched her repeatedly with a closed fist” in the head and face.

Then, he purportedly got out of the vehicle, came over to the driver’s side, and began punching the woman in the stomach.

Foose fled the scene before police arrived, but was arrested shortly thereafter at his residence.

Police documented injuries observed on the victim.

Foose remained in the Mahoning County jail Wednesday without bond. According to police, Foose has previously been convicted of domestic violence. According to court records, he is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here today for arraignment.

Mahoning County court records indicate that Foose previously was convicted of a misdemeanor theft charge in an incident in Boardman in 2014.
