WARREN

Lynnette Talley, 64, will be arraigned on a murder charge today in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court after her arrest Monday morning.

Talley, of Southern Boulevard Northwest, is charged in the May 8 death of Amari D. Allen, 3. Her indictment will become public when she’s arraigned.

In late May, the Summit County Coroner’s office said the boy’s death was a homicide, the result of blunt-force trauma to the head.

Amari was taken from a home on Clearwater Street Northwest in the afternoon May 5 and was on life support at Akron Children’s Hospital main campus in Akron with a traumatic brain injury later that night.

Hospital officials said the injury to the boy’s head was “nonaccidental,” despite what Talley told police. She said she observed the boy hit his head on the counter and floor.

In addition to murder, Talley faces one count of felonious assault, two of child endangering and one of child abuse, according to the Trumbull County jail.
