YWCA offers STEAM summer camps

YOUNGSTOWN

YWCA Youngstown is hosting a variety of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics camps for children during the summer. Young artists is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 17 to 21 for children grades 3 to 8. Class includes drawing fundamentals, watercolor painting, block printing and making a pinhole camera. Young artists gallery will be open for viewing July 21. Cost is $50.

Stop! Hip Hop! will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. July 17 to 21 for children grades 3 to 8. Students will learn basic hip-hop moves and a choreographed hip-hop dance to be performed at the end of the week for families. Cost is $30 and lunch to be included if also attending Young Artists.

Raspberry Pi App Camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 to 11 for children grades 7 to 9. This camp will combine information technology, computer technology and app development. Students will build their own working computer using a Raspberry Pi and will learn basic coding and work to develop a simple application.
