Coroner’s office identifies body found in Bristol Township as that of missing Warren man, 22

Staff report

WARREN

The Trumbull County Coroner’s office has confirmed the body found in Bristol Township last week was that of Brandon Sample, 22, who disappeared after leaving his home a week ago and not returning.

The coroner’s office has not completed Sample’s autopsy, so it has not yet been determined whether foul play was involved.

Police found the body in a remote area of the township about 10 a.m. Thursday while Warren police were following up on leads in Sample’s disappearance.

Sample, of Garfield Drive Northeast, left home the evening of June 11, telling family members he was taking a friend to Akron. His father texted him about 4:30 a.m. June 12, but afterward, he got no response.

Niles police found his car the morning of June 13 near the Niles Greenway bike trail.

Meanwhile, the coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy later this week on the body of a young male found in Mosquito Lake Friday afternoon to determine if it is that of Travis Shaffer, 16, who drove from his home early Thursday and didn’t come back.

And the autopsy results on the body of Donald Hummer, 60, of Youngstown Road in Niles is expected today. A citizen found his body about 11:30 a.m. Thursday near the AT&T store on Youngstown Road, across from Eastwood Mall.
