Warren police investigating injury to child found in swimming pool

WARREN — Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a 15-month-old girl who suffered cardiac arrest and wasn’t breathing Wednesday night after being found in a swimming pool at her home on Homewood Avenue Southeast.

Police were called at 6:37 p.m., and the child was taken to nearby Trumbull Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Officers collected a sample of the pool’s water and handled the address as a crime scene.

Trumbull County Children Services also was contacted to respond to the scene, according to police radio calls.

No information was available on the condition of the child today, but a report said she suffered a “major injury.”
