Information sessions

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave., has scheduled the dates and times of its information sessions for its 2017 Employment Skills and Training Program.

They are 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and July 31 to Aug. 3.

The information sessions give an outline of what is covered in the class, details of the program and what is expected from each participant. Candidates interested in the first free training class of 2017 scheduled to begin Aug. 7 must attend only one of the informational sessions. Class space is limited.

All participants must be from Mahoning County and have income eligibility at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

PNC revenue up

PITTSBURGH

PNC Bank reported second-quarter net income of $1.1 billion. Total revenue for the company grew by $176 million – 5 percent – since the first quarter of 2017. The company’s current revenue is $4.1 billion.

Loans grew by $5.2 billion – 2 percent – to $218 billion as of June 30 compared with March 31 this year.

Dividend announced

MIDLAND, MICH.

Chemical Financial Corporation’s board of directors has announced a third-quarter dividend of $0.28 for 2017.

The dividend is a 3.7 percent share increase over the previous quarter’s $0.27 dividend per share.

The dividend will be payable Sept. 15 and to shareholders of record Sept. 1. The ex-dividend date is Aug. 30.

TTM company picnic

NORTH JACKSON

TTM Technologies, the largest printed circuit board supplier in North America, is celebrating its 30th birthday with a company picnic Thursday.

The company will also help raise funds for its Helping Hands Committee, which collects money to assist employees in need.

The third-shift employees’ party is at 3 a.m.; the first-shift party is at noon; and second-shift party is at 7 p.m. All parties are on the front lawn of TTM Technologies, 12080 DeBartolo Place, Youngstown Commerce Park.

Average long-term mortgage rates fall

WASHINGTON

Long-term U.S. mortgage rates declined this week after two-straight weeks of increases. The benchmark 30-year rate slipped back below the significant 4 percent level.

Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday that the rate on 30-year, fixed-rate mortgages fell to an average 3.96 percent from 4.03 percent last week. It stood at 3.45 percent a year ago and averaged a record low 3.65 percent in 2016.

The rate on 15-year, fixed-rate home loans, popular with homeowners who are refinancing their mortgages, eased to 3.23 percent from 3.29 percent last week.
