A former Boardman teacher who was on probation for sexual-battery charges stipulated Friday that he violated one of the terms of his probation.

Jay Dana, 60, is jailed pending a probation violation hearing Aug. 11 in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court before Judge Maureen Sweeney.

He served a 75-day jail sentence in 2015 on the charge.

Dana admitted to being twice away from his GPS monitoring while he was in Florida.

Under the terms of his probation, he was not allowed to be away from his monitoring device.

Dana was indicted on charges in 2013 he molested three women after he slipped something in their drinks that rendered them ill.

Dana had retired as a teacher in 2011.

Two of the victims in the case were attacked in 2006 and a third was attacked in 2011.

Dana pleaded guilty June 15, 2015, to two counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony and a count of attempted sexual battery, a fourth-degree felony. Dana also must register as a Tier 3 sex offender.

The stipulation came after talks between prosecutors, his attorney and Judge Sweeney.

He will remain in the county jail until his probation-violation hearing.
