Austintown Lions and Lioness clubs install officers and celebrate 40th charter year for Lions

On June 19 at Rachel’s Restaurant in Austintown, the Austintown Lions and Lioness clubs had their Installation of Officers with Vice President Bob Melcher presiding.

Serving as Installing Officer was District Governor Betty Robbins from the Newton Falls Lions Club.

This was also the 40th anniversary of the Austintown Lions Club. Special guests were spouses and friends.

Installed as King Lion for the Lions was John Susany, First Vice President was Bob Melcher, Second Vice President was Jack Kochansky, Secretary was Harold Wilson, Treasurer was Larry Jensen, Tail Twister was Jim Banyots, Lion Tamer was Don Hoelzel, Membership Director/Public Relations was Bob Whited and Lioness Liaison was Larry Jensen.

For the Lioness, it was Lori Stone installed as president, Lou Skerkavich as Vice President, Teresa McCallen as Secretary and Jane Grace as Treasurer.

The highlight of the evening was Lion Don Hoelzel chosen as Lion of the Year. The award is symbolic of being an outstanding Lion during this past year. Lion PDG Bob Whited received a Silver Centennial Pin for his work in organizing the Struthers Lions Club.
