Columbiana County authorities are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred on Dyke Road late Saturday and on Union Ridge Road early Sunday.
The Columbiana County’s Sheriff’s Office received the call just before midnight that a shooting had taken place on Dyke Road. Deputies found a dead woman and a man with a gunshot wound; he was transported to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening, reported 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
While law-enforcement units including the county coroner, prosecutor and homicide task force and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation were investigating the Dyke Road shootings, they were informed around 8 a.m. Sunday that the suspect in those shootings had been found dead at a home on Union Ridge Road with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The names of the victims are not being released pending notification of next-of-kin.
