City police nab 3 on gun charges over the weekend


YOUNGSTOWN — Police arrested three people on gun charges over the weekend.

DeAndre Fant, 29, of Detroit Avenue, was arrested after police found a 9mm pistol and a clip of ammunition underneath the seat in a car he was a passenger in that was pulled over about 7:55 p.m.Sunday at Wick and Madison avenues.

Two women, Jalazia Green, 20, of Tod Lane and the driver, Tamika Croft, 24, of Blacklick, were each arrested on drug charges after police found two doses of heroin, a bag of cocaine and 15 bags of marijuana. Green was out on bail after being arrested in a vice squad raid on Thursday.

About 1:05 a.m. Sunday Roger Collier, 40, of East Philadelphia Avenue, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after police found a .32-caliber revolver while investigating an underage drinking complaint at a South Avenue bar. A witness told police Collier was seen brandishing the gun in a restroom, reports said.

About 2:50 p.m. Friday, Maurice Clinkscale, 23, of Gypsy Lane, was arrested following a vehicle chase in the 2500 block of Fifth Avenue. Reports said police found a 9mm handgun on the track where he was running and 65 rounds of 9mm ammo in the car.
