TRUMP SWEARING IN | Lordstown students got up early, got great seats


WASHINGTON — Members of the Lordstown High School Political History Club got up very early this morning and ended up with an excellent location to watch Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.

The 17 students in the club and the 10 adult chaperones are standing in the third row behind the seated section at the inauguration, said Terry Armstrong, Lordstown schools superintendent and one of the chaperones.

The group met at 3 a.m. and left its hotel 30 minutes later. a ride on the Metro got them to the inaugural site around 5 a.m. and the gates opened at 6:30 a.m., Armstrong said.

They’ve been standing since 7 a.m. Trump will take the oath of office at noon.

“It’s rainy and chilly, but it’s not too bad,” Armstrong said of the weather. “It’s sprinkling, but we’re prepared. Everyone is very excited.”
