‘Salute to Elvis’ cabaret in encore

YOUNGSTOWN

Easy Street Production is bringing back its “Salute to Elvis: Songs of the King” cabaret show, with 7:30 p.m. performances next Friday and Feb. 25 at Overture Restaurant, in the DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Todd Hancock, Natalie Sprouse, Maureen Collins and James McClellan sing selections that range from Presley’s early days to his movie career and his later shows in Las Vegas.

The restaurant will be decorated in the intimate atmosphere of a cabaret club. It will offer beer, wine and signature cocktails paired with a small plate menu complete with the King’s own peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich, prepared by Chef Jeff Chrystal.

Printmaking at YSU

YOUNGSTOWN

Guest artist Kristen Powers Nowlin will be at Youngstown State University Monday through Wednesday to demonstrate the printmaking process in Room 4025 of Bliss Hall. Visitors can stop any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A reception will take place Monday at 4 p.m. Admission is free.

YSU art students will collaborate with Nowlin to produce a limited-edition print, which will be pre-sold for $125 during the event.

Nowlin’s appearance is part of the Red Press Collaborative program, which promotes fine art printmaking at YSU and within the Mahoning Valley.

Various methods, such as Intaglio, Relief, Lithography, Screenprint and Digital Printing, will be used and showcased throughout the program.
