Massachusetts couple names son born during Super Bowl Brady

FALMOUTH, Mass.

A Massachusetts couple whose son was born right before the Patriots 25-point comeback in the Super Bowl has named the newborn “Brady.”

Sean Gaffney said he decided if the Plymouth couple’s fourth child was born Sunday the Patriots would erase their 28-3 deficit.

The 7.7-pound baby boy was born at 8:49 p.m. Sunday, and mom Colleen says “Literally, right after he was born, they came back.” The Patriots rallied for a 34-28 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Their son was named after Patriots quarterback and game MVP Tom Brady.

Man surprises girlfriend with TV ad proposal

ALBANY, N.Y.

The 51st Super Bowl will be remembered for the New England Patriots pulling off the game’s biggest comeback ever for their fifth NFL title. A New York woman will remember it as the night she got engaged at halftime.

Unknown to Albany-area resident Kourtney Lynn Myers, her boyfriend had won a local jewelry store’s contest dubbed “Surprise Super Bowl Proposal.” WTEN-TV reports Chris Garguilo taped a short video last week at Northeastern Fine Jewelers during which he asked Myers to marry him.

The ad aired locally just before the halftime show as the couple watched with friends at home. Garguilo repeated the question in person, she said yes and he placed the engagement ring on her finger as their friends whooped for joy.
